KARA MOHSINGER

Chief Financial Officer

Kara Mohsinger serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. Mohsinger is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of the organization and the development of UWGLV’s financial management strategy. She also contributes to the development of the organization’s strategic goals as a member of the executive team. Mohsinger is charged with overseeing United Way’s $30 million annual budget with the guidance of the Finance Committee that she manages -- a volunteer team comprised of some of the brightest financial minds in the Lehigh Valley. Mohsinger also oversees the audit committee. She is also responsible for endowment, capital budget acquisitions and the gift acceptance policy for United Way’s 19,000 donors.

Prior to joining the team at United Way, Mohsinger held several leadership positions in the finance department of a national non-profit educational consulting firm for over 13 years. Most recently, she was the President & CEO of the National Museum of Industrial History. With an MA from American University and credits towards an MBA at Lehigh University, Mohsinger possesses extensive experience as a financial professional in the nonprofit sector including management, strategy, financial planning and analysis.

As a mother to three girls and a daughter of a former educator, Mohsinger is passionate about education and closing opportunity gaps. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Civic Theater of Allentown, where her daughter is still involved.
